It is strange that love, which commands the emotions of not only young people, rarely finds its way into contemporary art. Perhaps it is the fear of romantic clichés. Marios Stamatis is not afraid of them, and he places pathos on the interface with the technologies that are channelling today's emotions. In videos and performances, he gives himself out, and the true love is infinitely intertwined with mediating digital tracks, and the movements of performers ambivalently associate both sex and gym. Adhesive athletic tapes on performers' bodies are symbolically linking them together and at the same time suggesting their real physical vulnerability. / rv
