Hannes Nienhüser

Hannes Nienhüser’s set of objects and sculptures is based on subtle shifts of meaning which unobtrusively place in question the logic of everyday phenomena and things. These are related to the notion of “home” embodied by the artist in the title of the series. To be precise, in the original it is deliberately incorrectly spelled as “Heimhat” with an extra “h”, corresponding with the underlying motif of the work. To name just one of the presented objects, a fireplace and hearth, the very embodiment of the notion of home, is conceived as an imitation in the form of a decorative relief, accentuated by the object being hung, suspended above the ground.
