The installation composed of photographs, videos and three-dimensional objects entitled The Hike takes as its theme a mountain hiking trip undertaken by a pair of young men. Representing an archetypal situation dealing with issues of friendship and betrayal, these themes are alluded to by quotes from classical iconographical motifs (the Judas Kiss, Samson and Delilah). The artist draws on autobiographical experience, in order to radically reframe it. Stripping it from the subjective dimension, she focuses on the central narrative of a journey of two people bound together by expectation and hopes that fail to materialize. In doing so, the artist opens the story to interpretation, leaving room for the viewer´s imagination.
