David Hanvald

David Hanvald’s paintings – sometimes richly structured, at other times reduced to elementary brushstrokes – are the result of a long mental process during which the artist came to terms with the work and ideas of famous American architect and original thinker Louis I. Kahn. The abstract compositions contain both a geometric order borrowed from architecture as well as the randomness and irregularity of painting, enhanced by the use of thin acrylic paints.
