ChoocLy Tan
Chooc Ly Tan’s works are utopian in nature. They research and demonstrate paralell variations of the order in the universe, their structure, cohesion and mutual interdependence. With close attention to detail and pataphysical seriousness she combines for example a VHS tape or a bottle of wine in her sophisticated installations. Only the weight of the individual object, the balance of their mutual forces and the force of gravity, holds the installation together. Similarly, the artist documents the beginnings of Oubliism, a revolutionary movement distancing itself from reality, all the while examining new possibilities which could be found in the chaos of the universe.
