Sarah Rutschman
(1981)
(CHE)
The slightly absurd drawings with coloured inks by Sarah Rutschmann connect identifiable representational motifs with indefinite abstract elements which, however, strongly remind us of something related. The artist creates these works as an immediate expression of her imagination. Drawing, with its small-scale dimension, is an ideal media for this spontaneous method of working. Similarly, the five objects which are part of the graduate exhibition are based on absurd connections and shifts in meanings and through their subtlety they go together well with the character of the drawings.
