Artur Niestroj

At the first glance banal scenery of chairs placed freely through the room disturbs the spectator at the moment when one of them moves a few centimeters. Revived simple objects suddenly blur the boundary between an installation and theater, between the living and the non-living, and between the reality and dream. The search for the relationship between emptiness and significance is shown even in Niestroj’s other works: the installation Through the universe... works with the entropy in acoustic form, the small sculpture named Heimweh (Homesick) transforms in a simple gesture the literary text into a landscape.
