Johannesfelder/donjuancampos

Don Juan Campos is the main protagonist in dance performances that are theatrically and often very spectacularly staged in historical settings. Dressed in a shocking pink leotard, he represents an autocratic ruler with an obscure penchant for grandiose dance, surrounded by a camarilla of devoted servants. Painter Johannes Felder created the character as his alter ego in an imaginary tale in which Don Juan Campos emerges as his lost twin. For reasons that are no longer known, as a young child Don suddenly found himself on the island of Molokko, where his dancing skills made him the island chief and shaman. (Marcel Fišer)
